Changeover switches GLC type up to 1600A
LOVATO Electric expands its range of GLC type changeover switches by introducing a new construction size for products covering applications up to 1600A.
The new switches available in the rated current of 1000A, 1250A and 1600A can be used with direct control or door lock and feature a wide range of accessories to meet every installation need.
GLC changeover switches are supplied already assembled in the three-pole and four-pole configurations; they have adequate electrical characteristics to meet any application needs despite having extremely compact dimensions. Mounting takes place on a plate using 4 screws without any positioning constraints. High breaking capacity contacts allow these devices to be used even in the AC33B category at full load of 1600A at 690V.
Direct operation or door coupling handles, by the means of extension shaft, are padlockable, easy to install and remove thanks to snap-on mounting, and available with the highest protection ratings IP66, IP69K and NEMA 4X.
All door coupling handles comply with UL508A which requires the ability of trained personnel to inspect the live panel. They are in fact equipped with a mechanical interlock inhibition mechanism with a switch in position I or II which makes it possible to open the hatch.
This mechanism cannot be activated without a tool, thus ensuring that the maneuver is totally voluntary.
In addition to the accessories already mentioned, terminal lugs, auxiliary contacts, terminal covers and phase barriers are available.
Terminal lugs are screw-mounted; for other accessories, no tool is required as they are snap-fitted onto the switch making installation quick and intuitive.
