Surge protection devices type SA0EV and SG2EV for electric vehicle charging stations

The new surge protection devices for electric vehicle charging stations include models for both AC and DC side protection.

For AC side protection, the type 1+2+3 device SA0EVT13NA255R, in a monoblock enclosure, is suitable for systems with 230/400VAC voltage, with an impulse current (Iimp) of 12.5 kA per pole.

For DC side protection, two type 2 models with pluggable cartridges are available, with nominal discharge current In=20kA and maximum current Imax=40kA:

  • SG2EVT2K00M3R, suitable for systems up to 1000VDC, such as DC charging stations for electric cars
  • SG2EVT2K50M3R, for systems up to 1500VDC, such as DC charging stations for buses and trucks.
