Keep voltage under control with the new PMV45N voltage monitoring relays
Smarter voltage monitoring. More protection. Less complexity.
Undervoltage, overvoltage, phase loss, neutral loss, incorrect phase sequence and voltage imbalance can all affect the reliable operation of three-phase electrical systems.
The new LOVATO Electric PMV45N voltage monitoring relays provide a compact, intelligent way to monitor key electrical parameters and help protect equipment against potentially damaging voltage conditions.
Available in two versions – PMV45NA480 and PMV45NA480NFC – the new multifunction voltage monitoring relays combine multiple protection functions in a space-saving one-module DIN housing.

What are voltage monitoring relays?
A voltage monitoring relay continuously checks the electrical supply against pre-set voltage conditions. When it detects a potentially problematic condition, its relay output changes state, allowing the appropriate protection or control action to be triggered.
For three-phase systems, this can mean monitoring for conditions such as:
• Minimum and maximum voltage
• Phase loss
• Neutral loss
• Incorrect phase sequence
• Frequency variations
• Voltage asymmetry
Rather than waiting for an electrical problem to cause equipment downtime or damage, a voltage monitoring relay provides an additional layer of protection by identifying abnormal supply conditions.

–
Why use a voltage monitoring relay?
Electrical supply conditions aren’t always predictable. A voltage monitoring relay can help you identify problems before they become bigger problems, providing greater confidence in the operation of connected equipment.
The PMV45N is particularly useful where maintaining the correct electrical supply is important to the performance and protection of machinery and systems.
Its multifunction approach also means one compact device can perform several monitoring functions, helping simplify panel design and installation.

Meet the PMV45N
The new PMV45N range has been designed to provide flexible voltage monitoring for three-phase systems with or without neutral.

–
PMV45NA480
The standard version provides:
• Minimum and maximum voltage monitoring
• Phase loss detection
• Neutral loss detection
• Incorrect phase sequence detection
• Selectable rated voltages from 208 to 480VAC phase-to-phase
• Minimum voltage threshold: 80 – 95% Ue
• Maximum voltage threshold: 105 – 120% Ue
• Adjustable tripping time delay: 0.1 – 30 seconds
• Self-powered operation
• One changeover relay output rated 8A, 250VAC
• Compact one-module DIN housing

–
PMV45NA480NFC
For applications requiring even greater monitoring flexibility, the PMV45NA480NFC adds:
• Minimum and maximum frequency monitoring
• Voltage asymmetry monitoring
• NFC programming via the LOVATO NFC App
That means up to eight protection functions in a single product, with individual functions able to be enabled or disabled according to the application.
With the LOVATO NFC App, the PMV45NA480NFC provides a graphical interface for viewing functions and parameters directly on a smartphone.
Digital setting of thresholds and time delays provides precise, repeatable configuration, while programmed settings can be saved and quickly copied to other relays – helping reduce the risk of configuration errors.
Settings can also be protected with a password for added control.

More monitoring. One compact solution.
With its combination of multifunction protection, flexible settings and compact DIN rail design, the PMV45N range provides a practical solution for monitoring three-phase electrical systems.
Whether you’re designing a new control panel or looking to add greater protection to an existing system, the new LOVATO Electric PMV45N voltage monitoring relays make it easier to keep critical voltage conditions under control.
