LOVATO Electric expands its range of motorised changeover switches type GLCM<\/b> with new cULus certified<\/b> versions compliant with the UL1008 standard<\/b>, aimed at the North American market.<\/p>\n

The expanded range includes three-pole<\/b> and four-pole<\/b> versions with a general purpose current of 100A<\/b> and 200A<\/b>.

The motorised changeover switches are designed to automatically switch between a main power line and an emergency secondary line, ensuring continuity of supply for priority loads. They are used across a wide range of applications, both industrial and tertiary, such as data centers, fire-fighting systems, production departments, gensets, hospitals, and public transport.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

GLCM motorised changeover switches are available in three variants<\/b>, differentiated by the motor power supply voltage<\/b>: 24VDC<\/b>, 110\u2026125VAC\/DC<\/b>, and 208\u2026277VAC<\/b>. This versatility, combined with the wide operating range, allows for installation in a variety of systems and application contexts<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the front, two LED indicators<\/b> show the motor power supply presence and alarm status, with a simple flashing code system for easy diagnostics, providing clear and immediate status information<\/b>, along with a built-in relay output<\/b> for the changeover switch availability signa<\/span>l.<\/p>\n

The hardware also includes a direct control handle and an optical port<\/b> on the top of the motor group for firmware updates or PC connection via the Xpress software, allowing for monitoring and parameter settings. Additionally, there is a slot for connecting an optional expansion module<\/b> (EXP type), which can equip the switch with two additional relay outputs with programmable functions or an RS485 communication port<\/b> for control and diagnostics<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The optional RS485 port<\/b> is a key feature<\/b> of the GLCM changeover switches, providing an innovative and efficient alternative to traditional command with digital inputs. It allows control via a Modbus-RTU<\/b> master device, reducing the number of connections<\/b> within the panel. This saves on wiring for the three-position command outputs, feedback inputs, and the switch\u2019s status output. It also reduces installation time and minimizes wiring errors<\/b>, while allowing complete, continuous<\/b>, and real-time monitoring<\/b> of the switch\u2019s status and quick identification of any functional or wiring anomalies, such as a cable break or an ongoing alarm. This ensures constant operability<\/b>, which is critical for applications requiring uninterrupted power supply.<\/p>\n

The GLCM motorised changeover switches are ideal for pairing with LOVATO Electric\u2019s automatic transfer switch controllers<\/b> ATL series or generator controllers<\/b> RGK series. In the case of control via the optional RS485 port, in addition to the previously mentioned benefits, it is possible to monitor the switch status and any active alarms directly from the controller display<\/b>.<\/p>\n
