RGAM20, RGAM40, RGAM41,

Remote serial interface connection

Remote control is a primary need for generating set applications and especially for telecommunications in the field.
Therefore, it is essential that controllers are capable of communicating with a variety of interface and networks so to provide data concerning the gen-set status to remote supervision systems.
All LOVATO Electric gen-set controllers are standard-supplied with RS232 interface which can be supported by a second RS485 interface, either directly built in (RGAM41) or by option board (RGKX01 for RGK50-RGK60).
The two ports can have completely independent addresses, baud-rates, formats and protocols.
The communication interface support both a proprietary ASCII protocol, used by the RGKSW remote control supervision software, and a standard Modbus®-RTU protocol normally used by SCADA supervision packages.
Both protocols have a very simple integration for all users who must develop their own application software and have, at their disposal, a complete and detailed documentation for the protocol implementation.
Whenever the LOVATO RGKSW remote control software is used, the AutoCall function also can be used to automatically send alarm and event conditions by SMS or email, via GSM modem, and provide a two-way control of the generating set. Another option, offered by the remote control software, is to exploit a Ethernet network, using TCP-IP protocol, and access data of controllers by Ethernet-serial gateways.

Engine protection controller RGK40

LOVATO Electric presents the RGK40 stand alone gen-set controller.
This compact and flexible unit is the ideal solution for most applications that require engine protection. It can be used for generators, motor pumps or any other engine-driven machinery.
The RGK40 is equipped with a removable front key that allows to lock engine starting, useful for mobile generators and building-site machinery. The LED display shows the engine running hours, battery voltage and engine speed/frequency, so there is no need to add external indicators. Engine starting can be controlled from the front panel or remotely using the PC software.
