RGAM4...
"MUTUAL STAND-BY" FUNCTION

As of firmware upgrade software no.10, the RGAM4… controllers support the new “mutual standby” function which permits to control a system with three power sources – Mains + two emergency generating sets.
With this function, the two generating sets can step in as backup one to the other in case of alarm conditions or simultaneously distributing the running hours equally between the two.
All this takes place with serial communications (RS232 or RS485) between the two controllers so that each can keep track of the status and the running hours of the other.
This function can be enabled using a few dedicated parameters in the customised menu.
Once the “mutual standby” function is activated, the display will view dedicated information pages summarising the system status.
The system is designed also for the operation whenever one of the two controllers switches off or inoperative or communications breakdown.
An apposite instructions manual has been prepared to describe the operating, programming and connection modes and can be consulted with the following link: RGAM4... custom functions
Modular battery chargers series BCF
with switching technology

New models of the modular battery chargers with switching technology assure the continuity of power delivery in emergency systems. This is one of the latest LOVATO Electric offers.
Primarily used to maintain the charge of generator engine batteries or of backup batteries in electric switchboards, the BCF models maintain optimum charge level of batteries providing the maximum capacity when the emergency system needs to step in. At the same time, the battery chargers are designed to protect the battery and the system in case of abnormal conditions due to inadequate connections or caused during normal operation.
Flanking the existing BCE series with linear technology, these new models are equipped with switching technology which permit to optimise energy consumption and heat dissipation while their compact size reduce space occupancy. They can eventually replace products with traditional linear technology which result to be inefficient from an energy saving point of view.

The BCF battery chargers have a 5-module plastic housing, suitable for mounting on 35mm DIN rail as well as on panel mounting plate. They can be powered by a wide voltage range (100…240VAC) and provide output levels suited to 12VDC or 24VDC lead-acid batteries, with 1.25A to 4.5A charging current and typical charging cycle of constant current and constant voltage curve.
Quite user-friendly BCFs are equipped with protections at terminals, for battery connection, against short circuits and reverse polarity; provide indication of discharged battery, wrong or inadequate connections and tripped status by front LEDs and have a relay output for alarm remote control.
In case of battery charger failure during normal operation, an output fuse permits its disconnection.
Additional information is given in brochure PD68 GB 01 11.
