LOVATO Electric is adding the DMG 900 type, expandable and with graphic touch-screen LCD, for the control of power distribution systems, to its family of digital multimeters.

Main measurements monitored are:
- Voltage (phase, phase to neutral and neutral to ground)
- Power supply (for DC supply version only)
- Phase current
- Neutral current, calculated and measured values
- Power (active, reactive, apparent values of phase and total)
- P.F. (Power Factor per phase and total)
- Cosphi per phase and total
- Frequency (measurement of the controlled voltage)
- Voltage and current asymmetry
- Total harmonic distortion (THD) of voltage and current values
- Voltage and current analysis up to the 63° harmonic level
- Maximum (HIGH) and minimum (LOW) function for measurement and
  storing of instantaneous voltage, current, power, P.F., cosphi and
  frequency values
- Averaging function
- Power and current maximum demand values
- Harmonic power flow direction
- Energy meters for active, reactive and apparent (partial and total with
 programmable tariff function)
- Pulse count for general use (pulse count for water, gas and other utility
  consumption)
- Analysis of energy quality according to EN 50160 (with expansion module).

EXPANSION MODULES
The DMG 900 functions can be incremented thanks to expansion modules which allow to comply with the most diversified Customer’s requirements.
The following are available:
• Digital, static and relay type inputs and outputs
• Analog inputs and outputs
• USB, RS232, RS485, Ethernet and Profibus-DP communication interface
• Data memory with calendar clock for events and data logging
• Data memory with calendar clock for events, data logging and Energy
  Quality.

LOVATO Electric renews its series of AC motor drives by introducing the single-phase VFNC3 type for 0.2 to 2.2kW motor ratings.
It is an ultra compact speed control with excellent capabilities, extremely reliable (printed circuit surface protection according to IEC/EN 60721-3-3).
Easily installed, the VFNC3 is equipped with a front display and innovative jog dial control which simplifies the drive and motor programming and control processes.
The onboard RS485 serial port provides for total remote management (supervision, communications protocols).

VFNC3 finds use in simple applications, such as suction fans, ventilators, conveyer belts, car washes, fitness equipment, but also in medium complexity applications, such as pumps and water works. The vector control and motor auto-tuning capability warrants efficiency and high torque even at very low operating frequency values.

QUESTION Can switch disconnectors be combined together to make 6 or 8-pole switch changeovers (I –0–II)? ANSWER Certain applications require the use of 6 or 8-pole switch changeovers with a I - 0 - II function to switch over between supply lines. LOVATO Electric has a modular solution: purchasing two standard switch disconnectors of the same rating and the GAX50… or GAX60… accessory, either 6-pole switch disconnectors or 3-pole switch changeovers can be made. By adding the fourth pole, with snap-on mounting to the switch side, 8-pole switch disconnectors and 4-pole switch changeovers can be assembled. The main function of 6- and 8-pole switch disconnectors is to simultaneously disconnect two lines or electric circuits. For this reason, it is very convenient to be able to carry out the isolation of the 6 or 8 poles directly with one single operation (one only handle and one only actuating mechanism). The typical I – 0 – II function of switch changeovers is the on-load switching over between two low-voltage power circuits as well as their safe disconnection.
