The
Penne Nerechoir was
founded in Almè in 1969 by a group of friends who liked to meet to sing the most popular Alpine song repertory.
As for most amateur choirs,
the interest in songs evolved and involved an increasing number of music lovers who widened the repertory and characterised the
choral ensemble.
Over the years, the Penne Nerechoir has sung in many towns in the Bergamo area, on regional and national
levels.
They have also travelled abroad, once to
Switzerland and twice to Belgium.
The
choir became an official member of Associazione
Nazionale Alpini
- the national Alpine troop association - in 1982 and took the name CORO
A.N.A. PENNE NERE.
They have since taken part in many national reunions.
Roberto Micheletti, formerly
Coro
della Tridentina choir
member and head singer, has directed the choir since 1998. The
Penne Nere are committed to rendering the repertoire as an authentic expression of the people who originally gave life, voice and colour to the
songs.
